Tinubu not backing Sola Oke’s AD candidature
Contrary to media propaganda from the Olusola Oke Campaign Committee that a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was the one that directed him (Oke) to secure the governorship ticket of the Alliance for Democracy, the media office of the former Lagos state governor has said that Tinubu had no hands in his (Oke) candidature.
According to top members of Tinubu media office who confided in Nigerian Concord on Friday afternoon, Senator Bola Tinubu knew nothing about how Sola Oke got the AD’s ticket.
The Tinubu Media Office which is led by Mr. Tunde Ramman continued that it was also a lie that the APC national leader had directed his supporters to move to the AD in order to support Sola Oke.
The office noted that Bola Tinubu is a true party man and he won’t do anything that will make him commit anti party offences.
“Let the Oke Campaigns team bring out proofs that Tinubu is backing Sola Oke in AD. Let them also bring proofs that Tinubu has asked his supporters to move to AD.
“As a speak to you, we are planning a press conference regarding the lies and cheap propaganda from the Oke campaigns team. All Tinubu’s supporters are still intact with him in the APC.
“He never ordered them to support Sola Oke in the AD. He also didn’t ask any of us to join the AD or work for the AD of Chief Sola Oke” a top member of the office said.
About Bola Ilori, Tinubu’s man, who Oke made his Campaigns Director General, the Tinubu media office said that the APC national leader was not a party to that, adding that he wasn’t briefed before the decision was taken.
The office said that Bola Tinubu’s opinion or support was not sought for by the Oke campaigns team before making Bola Ilori its DG.
The Tinubu Media Office noted that the appointment of Ilori as Oke Campaigns DG was the handiwork of the governor of Osun state, Mr. Raufu Aregbesola who is being used by the Presidency and the APC national chairman, Chief John Oyegun, to spite Tinubu.
The office also stated that Aregbesola and Bola Ilori are being used by Babatunde Fashola, Kayode Fayemi, Rotimi Amaechi, El-Rufai and some other APC governors except Ambode (Lagos) just to pull down the political structures of Mr. Bola Tinubu.
It pressed further that these conspirators had briefed President Mohammadu Buhari that it would be hard for him to get the APC’s ticket to contest in 2019 if Tinubu’s political structure in the Southwest was left intact.
Nigerian Concord gathered that it was this development that made Buhari supported Fashola and others to work against the emergence of Segun Abraham, Tinubu’s favourite, during the last APC primary election in Akure.
