Suswam Calls For Unity To Stop Hardship In Benue
By John Aleigha, Makurdi
The immediate past governor of Benue state, Dr. Gabriel Suswam, on Sunday called for unity among the people of the state for them to change the change in 2019.
The Secretary of the PDP’s National Zoning Committee also admonished the people of the state to remain steadfast and resilient in the face of the raging hunger and insecurity foisted on them by the present APC administration in the state.
Suswm stated this at Ushongo on the occasion of the thanksgiving service and reception organized in his honour by Suswam Mothers Zone A.
The former governor said the situation in the state is self inflicted because of the peoples impatient with the PDP during the last elections in the state.
According to Suswam , the issue of non payment of salaries which the APC meticulously used against his administration has overwhelmed them as they are owing state workers over 8 months salary.
He added that nearly a year after the demise of the paramount ruler of the Tiv, the government is yet to appoint a substitute Tor Tiv because of incompetence unlike other states that have filled such sensitive position within a reasonable period of time.
