Only Ortom can represent Zone B well in 2023, says Olofu

Benue State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning, Hon. David Olofu, says it is only the governor of the state, Samuel Ortom, that can represent Benue Northwest very well as senator in 2023.

Olofu also added that he believes in the efforts of Zone B Youth Movement for Ortom 2023 (ZYMO) in ensuring that Governor Samuel Ortom is elected senator, Benue North-West senatorial district come 2023.

The Finance Commissioner disclosed this recently in his office when he played host to the group.

Olofu stated that Governor Ortom remains one of the most powerful leaders Nigeria has produced.

He described the Governor as Godsent, who has come at the time Benue State and Nigeria is yearning for good leaders.

The Honourable Commissioner stressed that, Governor Ortom’s achievements are glaring even to the blind saying, he will continue to support the group until the senatorial election of the governor is successful.

Responding, ZYMO State Chairman, Comr. Issac Mtom said the objectives of the group is to ensure that Ortom go to the Senate.

Comr. Mtom appreciated the Commissioner for the gift of a brand new Galaxy car presented to the group on the day of the inauguration of its EXCO in 2021, saying he was the first to present such gift to the group.

He added that the gift has indeed opened doors of opportunities to the group making it receive a branded Toyota picnic from the Chairman of SUBEB.

Speaking separately, Hon Jirgba Terver, Hon. Aondohemba Tange, Hon. Mrs. Faith Amase for MINDA, JEMGBAGH and women wing all appreciated Hon. Olofu for his contribution to the group, saying the group is where it is today as a result of his timely contribution right at its inception.

They pleaded with the Hon. Commissioner to prevail on the Governor to succumb to the pressure from them and accept to contest for the Benue North-West Senatorial seat come 2023.

Comr. David Obande and Pastor Dave Ogbole on their part applauded ZYMO for the measures taken so far in campaigning, saying Governor Ortom is a River above Zone B, and C affairs.

They admonished ZYMO leadership to extend the Ortom message to all the Idomas resident in Makurdi and other ethnic groups in the zone.

In a vote of thanks, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Hon. Frank Usaadi said Dr. Olofu remains one of the strongest pillars in Governor Ortom’s administration.

He appreciated the group for all their struggles to send Governor Ortom to the hallowed Chambers, saying their efforts will not be in vain.
