Nigerian Concord Newspaper

The Management Telegraph newspaper has apologized to the governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom, over a malicious report in which the governor was wrongly quoted as calling Benue people drunkards.

The newspaper through her correspondent in Benue state, Mr. Cephas lorhemen, regretted publishing such report that has generated lots of confusion in Benue state.

In an apology note sent to the Telephone of the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nathaniel Ikyur, the Benue’s correspondent of Telegraph newspaper urged Ortom to please find a place in his heart and forgive me. “To err is human but to forgive is Divine” he added.

Promising that such will never repeat itself again, Iorhemen who was apparently paid to twist Ortom’s statement said that it was not his intentions to malign the office of the Benue governor.
