2023: Ortom gets supports of MINDA youths

MINDA PDP Youths from four local governments, Makurdi, Guma, Gwer West and Gwer East, have thrown their weight behind the state governor, Samuel Ortom, if he eventually decides to contest for the Benue Northwest Senatorial seat in the 2023 general elections.
The youths who converged at Okiki hotels North bank, Makurdi for an emergency meeting today unanimously declared their support for Governor Samuel Ortom with a firm assurance that they will be solidly behind him during the race.
According to the group headed by Asema Raymond, Governor Ortom should be applauded and supported for his administration’s sustained efforts in developing the zone which was said to have been marginalized by the administration of Senator George Akume between 1999 and 2007.
At the meeting, the MINDA PDP youths also praised the governor for entrenching peace and good governance in the four local governments as well as the remaining local councila in the state.
Earlier in his remarks, Raymond Nago Asema expressed that the entire Youths of MINDA are united and proud of Ortom’s remarkable achievements in the area and the entire state in spite of the nation’s economic, security and public health challenges. He reiterated their unalloyed support for the governor.
Also speaking, Enoch Bemshima Ortese said: “This gathering is to reassure His Excellency that his people are solidly behind him”
Charging Governor Ortom to “march on” and “move on”, Bemshima who praised MINDA Youths in PDP for gathering together in unity to show support and solidarity to one of their own, Governor Ortom, also charged the governor to continue with his laudable vision for the zone and the state.
In his own speech, the Chairman PDP North bank 2, James Nyajo, pointed out that the group felt that it was imperative that MINDA Youths should unite and come together to support Governor Ortom to get to the Senate. He encouraged and offerd prayers for his continued success till the end of his Political career, declaring that “our support for Governor Ortom is irrevocable”.
On his part, the Youth leader Tyoshin PDP, Jato Jato James, spoke in the same direction, reemphasizing the need for the people of MINDA to unite and rally round the governor, saying: “We were marginalized in the past but we are certain our tears will soon be wipe away”.
Comr. Michael Shawon who spoke for Masev Youths, urged MINDA Youths under PDP to also unite and take advantage of the numerical strength to give Governor Samuel Ortom the maximum support he deserves come 2023.
Speaking on behalf of the women wing, Miss Torkwase Queen said: “We are solidly behind you (Ortom) and we will continue to pray for you to realize more successes come 2023”.
Other speakers, Hon. Francis Bur, Rt. Hon. Msughter Audu, ( Makurdi North state hopeful, and Hon. Akweki, also extolled the governor’s leadership qualities and assured him of the unalloyed support and solidarity of the people of MINDA.
