The Colliation for Good Governance, CGG, has called on the Nigerian Police Force as well as the federal government to investigate a senior police officer, DSO Akin Akinremi, under whose instruction a serving Corp member, Ereibor Tunere, was assaulted and mobbed in Abuja last weekend.

The ugly incident happened at Sunday Adewusi Housing Estate Dakwa, Deidei Abuja at about 930 AM on Saturday 26/9/21.

The group in a press statement signed by its chairman, Barrister Kolawole Adams, condemned the action of the police officer who currently serves at the Force CID Area 11, Abuja.

The group said in the statement that: “On this faithful day, the corp member’s sister was celebrating her birthday and needed a barbecue grey to have some meat roasted and after calling a friend who owns the grey, she instructed the brothers to go and get the stand.

“As they were attempting to put the grey that is actually outside the fence of the house, DSP Akin sighted them and immediately shouted thieves which attracted the attention of neighbors who came out in their numbers and without asking questions the started unleashing terror on them”

During a visit of Nigerian Concord Newspaper to the area this evening, DSP Akin’s whose posters are seen all over the Estate is said to be a contestant in the forthcoming election in the Estate.

Neighbors who spoke with this newspaper said that by virtue of his (DSP Akin) closeness to the Outgone executive who many believed to have mismanaged the estate funds, the police officer is already parading himself as the chairman of the Estate.

Others who spoke with our reporter said that many people in the area are afraid of how he would behave when he is finally given the opportunity to be the Chairman of the Estate.
