A PDP governorship aspirant in Benue state, Mr. Terver Akase, has warned his supporters against attacking any aspirant on the social media.

Akase, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Samuel Ortom was unveiled amongst other aspirants yesterday in Gboko by the governor during the defection ceremony of some APC chieftains in the local government.

The Chief Press Secretary in a media note he personally posted on his Facebook wall said he would not encourage anybody from his camp to speak ill of other aspirants in the quest of promoting him

Akase wrote:

“My brothers and sisters, I wish to thank and commend all of you for the love and huge support you have been showing me.

“Some of you were in Gboko yesterday and witnessed when the Governor presented me and other eminently qualified Benue sons as PDP’s 2023 guber aspirants. That event marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life and I’ve committed the journey into the hands of Almighty God.

“There is one thing I wish to speak to you about. For me, 2023 is not a do or die affair. I have joined the race to seek the opportunity to further contribute to the development of our dear state. So I will appeal to you who are supporting me to always be civil and polite to all others who are seeking the same office.

“My desire is that Governor Samuel Ortom has worked very hard to lay a solid legacy for Benue State and it will only be fair that whoever takes over from him should protect and preserve that legacy. My prayer is for God to have mercy on Benue State and anoint someone who can stand firmly for Benue people as Governor Ortom has done. It can be Terver Akase, it can be any other aspirant. And pls note this well. If eventually PDP decides that I fly its flag come 2023, I will gladly accept the responsibility. But if the party decides that another person should be the candidate, I will gladly support such a person. The interest of our party and our dear state is more important than a small me.

“One more appeal I wish to make to all of you is this. Please those supporting me should on no account insult or post negative things against any other aspirant. Any one who insults other aspirants is not part of my train.
