Nigerian Youth laud Ortom Over Benue Youth Summit initiative

The Benue State chapter of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) led by Comrade Isaac Mtom has commended the efforts of Governor Samuel Ortom in addressing the issues affecting the youths by his inauguration of Benue Youth Summit Committee which is charged with the responsibility of chatting the roadmap for addressing the challenges of the youths in the state.

The commendation is contained in a press statement issued by the Spokesperson of the association, Mr. Dan Mashin.

The statement reads: “There is no doubt that Governor Samuel Ortom led administration has shown commitment to the development of the youths in the state by placing the youths in various positions of authority and this summit will also be a milestone in his administration.

“The news of the inauguration of the Benue Youth Summit Committee was received by the youths with great joy and delight given that President Mohammadu Buhari has recently approved November 1st as National Youth Day.

“The NYC commends Benue youths for their peaceful disposition during the #ENDSARS protest as well the prompt and fatherly role exhibited by His Excellency Governor Samuel Ortom in handling the situation that averted the breakdown of law and order that would have led to the destruction of lives and property.

“With the visionary foresight of Governor Samuel Ortom for development of youths in the state, hope is kept alive for a breath of fresh air by Benue youths.

“NYC wishes to also appreciate the Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Sen. George Akume for lending his voice in support of peace in the state during the recent presidential briefing, it was indeed a demonstration that Sen. Akume and Governor Ortom put Benue first above self.

“NYC is extremely thankful to Benue State First Lady, Her Excellency, Dr (Mrs) Eunice Ortom for her supportive role and ideas that have given birth to so many programmes pertaining to the welfare, empowerment, and development of youths within the state.

“To all the youths, we say this is a win win situation that should be admired, and utilized for the development of our dear state and country at large.

“We believe that sooner or later the youths will have cause to smile as the set objectives will be achieved”
