MZOUGH U ZWATIV passes vote of confidence on Ortom

The Tiv Language Studies and Development Association (Mzough U Zwativ) yesterday passed a vote of confidence on Governor Samuel Ortom led administration.

The vote of confidence was passed while the association paid a courtesy call on the honourable Commissioner of Education, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar.

The National President of the Association, Revd Fr Tagesa Akpagher, said the decision to pass the vote of confidence on Governor Ortom came as a result of his disposition in directing the teaching of Tiv language (zwaTiv) at both primary and post-primary schools in Benue state, a dream which has been nursed for over 30 years.

He further acknowledged the efforts of the honourable commissioner for been instrumental to the actualization of this dream. “Our collective desire as a socio-cultural organization desirous of stepping up ZwaTiv in schools to an enviable height” he said.

Revd. Tagese appreciated Governor Ortom for his exemplary leadership style, concern and readiness shown to the development of education in the state, while pledging their maximum support for the attainment of a better Benue State of their dream.

Responding, the honourable commissioner of education Prof. Dennis Ityavyar thanked then for granting vote of confidence on his boss and promoting Tiv language in the state.

He maintained that Governor Ortom as an education loving Governor has made arrangement to introduce Tiv language in secondary schools and Colleges of Education so that graduates will be employed to teach Tiv language in secondary schools.
