The Governorship candidate of the PDP in Ondo state, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede SAN, on Wednesday received massive supports from the voters In Oda Ward Six of Akure South.

The residents of the area who trooped out in their thousands at their various Units to welcome the campaign train of the PDP in the Ward stated that their supports for Jegede were borne out of the neglect which they had suffered in the hands of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu sincehe became governor in 2017.

They recalled that the roads in the area which were begun by a former governor of the state, Late Olusegun Agagu, are now in a bad state, stressing that all the pleas which they had made to the present government to repair the roads were not listened to.

They berated Governor Akeredolu for abandoning the entire Ward Six In Akure without any meaningful project to point at in any of the Units in the entire ward.

According to them, the governor promised not to abandon the roads which were begun by Late Agagu when he was campaigning in 2016 but he had failed to fulfil the promise.

Residents of the villages visited in Ward Six lamented the sufferings which they are going through as a result of poor power supply, poor water supply, deplorable roads and lack of other social amenities.

They complained that several letters had been written to Governor Akeredolu but they were turned down as a result of the governor’s wickedness to the area.

While responding to the Ward Six PDP members during the rally, the residents, stakeholders and community leaders in the areas visited said they had made up their mind to vote for Eyitayo Jegede in the forthcoming October 10 governorship election.

They hoped that he will change the poor living standard of people in the area for better once he is sworn-in as governor in February next year.

In their speeches, leaders of PDP in Oda Ward Six led by the Ward Chairman, Mr. Banji Omoomo, promised that they would take the plights of the areas which they visited during the rally to the PDP candidate for an appropriate action.

The PDP leaders in the Ward said that the government of Eyitayo Jegede will make life bearable for everyone in the areas and Ondo state as a whole.

They assured that Jegede will help farmers with soft loans to boost their job, adding that youths and women too will be adequately empowered by the PDP candidate if they elect him as governor during the election.

On education, they said that the mind of the PDP candidate is made up to return the high tuition fees of tertiary Institutions in the state back to what they used to be under the administration of Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

Omoomo and other speakers also assured the people of an almost free health care service under the PDP government if they can vote for the emergence of Eyitayo Jegede on October 10.

They however begged the residents of Oda Ward Six not to collect bribe from the APC and vote against their conscience on the election day.
