Ortom, others eulogize Elaigwu Abutu at book launch

Governor Samuel Ortom has described the head of news, Radio Nigeria Harvest FM, Makurdi Mr. Elaigwu Abutu as a prolific writer and broadcaster whose contributions have positively impacted on the society.

He stated this today at the public presentation and launch of a book titled: “Echoes of the Times,” written by Mr. Abutu.

Governor Ortom who was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, said the eulogies from dignitaries at the event were testimonies about a man who has put in so much to make the society better through his commentaries on radio.

According to the Governor, Mr. Elaigwu’s prediction in one of his commentaries many years ago that Innocent Idiba, aka 2Face would become a global music super star had come to pass.

The Governor noted that the book which captured all aspects of the economy would add value to government and the private sector.

The Chief Press Secretary in his personal capacity, purchased copies of the book for distribution to the 36 FM stations of Radio Nigeria across the country.

Deputy Governor of the state, Engr. Benson Abounu, Minister for Special Duties and Inter-governmental Affairs, Senator George Akume, former Senate President, Senator David Mark, serving Senators for Zones A, B and C parts of the state who were ably represented, acknowledged the commitment of the author and wished him well as he bows out of the civil service soon.

Zonal Director North Central, Radio Nigeria, Mr. Haruna Idris, who represented the Director General, Mansur Liman described Mr. Abutu as a thoroughbred media personality, adding that he would continue to be a mentor to many upcoming journalists even in retirement.
