Benue Local Govt Bureau to partner ITF for manpower development

The Honourable Special Adviser, Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Elder (Amb.) Jerome Tor Shimbe, has assured of the readiness of the Bureau to partner the Industrial Training Fund, ITF, for training and retraining of staff at the third tier for efficient service delivery.

Elder Jerome Tor Shimbe who gave this assurance in his office while playing host to a delegation from ITF, Makurdi Area Office said, Benue State was indeed privileged to have one of the offices of the ITF located in the State and promised to seize that opportunity to ensure that staff at the third tier are adequately trained including council officials and commended the Area manager and his team for their doggedness in their services to the people of the State.

Earlier, Area Manager of the Industrial Training Fund in the State, Mr. Okwori O. stated that the essence of the courtesy call was to intimate the Special Adviser of their activities and as well offer their expertise in the area of manpower development and particularly sued for partnership to train the workers at the third tier assuring that they parade a wide array of professionals in various fields of life and thanked the Special Adviser for granting them audience even on short notice.

In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary of the Bureau, Mr. Elvis Attah, reiterated the importance of on the job training and thanked the ITF for providing a shoulder for the Bureau to rely on in that regard and promised to always call on them whenever the need arises.

The Special Adviser and his management team were presented with a brochure that chronicles the schedule and activities of the Fund.
