Tinubu battles Aregbesola over 2023 presidential seat

Nigerian Concord Newspaper

Nigerian Concord can authoritatively report a cold war between a former governor of Lagos State and APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the minister for Interior, Ogbeni Raufu Aregbesola, over the 2023 presidential seat.

While Tinubu held sway as Lagos State governor, Raufu Aregbesola was his Commissioner for works.

Also recall that it was Tinubu who facilitated Aregbesola’s chance of being governor of Osun state for two terms.

Report has it that Tinubu, sensing that his political associate (Aregbe) is seriously nursing an ambition to be president after President Muhamadu Buhari in 2023, immediately began a political war against the Interior minister.

Part of Tinubu’s strategies to stop Aregbesola from wrestling APC presidential ticket with him 2022 was to weaken all political structure of the interior minister.

Confirming his political battle with Aregbesola, Tinubu who spoke at a meeting in Lagos State this afternoon clamped down all the political groups of his former works Commissioner.

A source who spoke to Nigerian Concord under the condition of anonymity said that Tinubu had crumbled all the structures which Ogbeni Aregbesola hoped to use to battle the APC ticket with him 2022.
