Akase: Youths development, top priority for Ortom

Chief Press Secretary to Benue State Governor, Mr Terver Akase, says youth development and empowerment remains one of the top priorities of Governor Samuel Ortom.

Akase who stated this yesterday while receiving Mr Simeon Ogaba who trekked from Abuja to Makurdi to mark Governor Samuel Ortom’s victory at the Supreme Court added that his committed to greater development of young people through youth-friendly policies and programmes.

Recall that Simeon Ogaba took five days to complete his journey from Abuja to Makurdi to celebrate the Supreme Court victory.

The Chief Press Secretary thanked the victory trekker for the love he had shown the Governor, saying is expedition was demonstration of courage and determination.

Mr Akase described Benue youths as hardworking, courageous and committed to good causes, stressing that the solidarity demonstrated by Mr Ogaba would encourage the Governor to do more in impacting positively on the lives of the people.

Earlier, Mr Simeon Ogaba who thanked God for the successful completion of his victory trek said the voyage was in fulfillment of the promise he made to God that if Governor Ortom won at the Supreme Court, he would trek from Abuja to Makurdi as a mark of solidarity.

While thanking Governor Ortom for bringing him to limelight through his appointment in the last administration as the Governor’s assistant, he said his experience on the highway had given him greater knowledge about this part of the country.

Mr Ogaba also thanked his family for supporting him and those who encouraged him while on the journey.
