Benue govt dismisses fake cabinet list circulated on social media
Nigerian Concord Newspaper
The Benue state government has denied knowledge of the cabinet list that is being circulated on the social media by the APC social media members.
The denial was made in a media note made available to our correspondent by the CPS to Benue state governor, Mr. Terver Akase.
According to Akase, the report was a figment of the writer’s imagination as the state governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, did not have any knowledge of the said list.
The governor’s media aide continued that his principal had not allocated any office to anyone as claimed by those circulating the list on the social media.
The media note reads:
“There is a poorly scripted story being circulated on Facebook claiming that Governor Samuel Ortom has listed some persons to be appointed into his cabinet.
“The write-up is titled ‘Disquiet In Benue PDP’. It has a long list of names alleging that such individuals are those chosen to be given political appointments in the next dispensation.
“That entire piece is false, badly worded, imaginary and exists only in the fantasy of the writer. Please disregard it”
