Makarfi promises to restore security back to Benue, vows to tackle corruption

A presidential aspirant under the platform of the PDP, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, on Tuesday promised to restore security back to Benue state if elected as president in the 2019 general elections.

Makarfi, a former governor of Kaduna state made the known during his consultation with the Benue state executive council at the party’s secretariat yesterday.

Makarfi who is also the immediate past acting national chairman of the party also promised to tackle corruption rigorously by the time he becomes president in 2019.

His words: “After giving President Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government a block vote in 2015,the only dividend of democracy channelled to your state, Benue, so far is HARVEST OF CORPSES. My government will nip such a preventable insecurity in the bud.

“The killings must stop now and our people must go back to their homes and start their farming activities this cropping season. Open grazing and farming cannot cohabit. Ranching system is the only way out and must be enforced the very first day of my government”

Speakibg further, Makarfi said that security shall be his number one priority, adding that lives and properties of Nigerians will be protected.

“Terrorism, kidnapping,armed banditry, political assassination and blatant vendetta against political opponents which have overwhelmed this APC-led government shall be things of the past” he noted.

On job creation, the aspirant promised tat massive job opportunities will be created for Nigeria’s teeming youths.

On economy, Makarfi promised that Nigeria’s economy will be excellently managed, noting that Benue state will retain its appellation as the food basket of Nigeria and not blood basket of the nation as being witnessed today.

He pressed further that the war against corruption will be pursued holistically, vigorously and not selectively as being carried out by the APC government.

How however promised that Nigerians will be treated equally,regardless to their tribes,religions and regions.

In his response, state chairman of the PDP in Benue state, Sir John Ngbede, assured Makarfi of their total supports.

He praised the aspirant for the matured way which handled the Lego tussles which recent gave the party back to its original owner.
