Akume plans to kill Tondo’s murder case against Sekav
>>>Efforts to bribe Tondo’s wife, family failed
Few days after the Benue state commissioner for Arts and Culture, Mr. Sekav Iortyom, was declared wanted by the police for his involvement with the murder of an APC chairmanship aspirant in Buruku, Late Williams Tondo, a former governor in the state, Senator George Akume, has begun plans to kill the murder case hanging on Sekav’s neck.
Parts of the strategies, Nigerian Concord gathered was for the Senator to financially induce the deceased wife and some top family members in order for the case against Sekav to be withdrawn.
This strategy was perfected at a meeting which Senator Akume held with all the four kindred heads of the four Council Wards in Mbagen at his Judges Quarters residence in Makurdi on Sunday (today) night .
The four kindred heads whom Akume had met on ways to kill the murder case against Sekav are Peter Obi, Zaki Zer Age, Tsenongo Akaatergh and Tagher Aboh.
At the meeting, Akume reportedly made it known to the kindred heads on his failed efforts to lure some family members of the late Tondo especially his wife into a round table negotiations with some monetary inducement.
The former governor also hinted on the another failed effort to make Tondo’s family members and his wife swear to an oath that they would withdraw the murder case against Sekav, his god son, for an amicable settlement between all the parties that are involved.
However, the late Tondo’s wife and some members of his wife were said to have sworn never to accept anything from Akume for them to let the killers go scot free.
It would be recalled that Mr. David Yimam, the Sole Administrator of Buruku local government, had been remanded in Makurdi prison by a Magistrate Court sitting in Makurdi over the same Tondo’s murder.
Yiman according to source may be left in prison to face the music, but Akume is doing everything humanly possible to shield his political god son, Hon. Sekav, from facing prosecution.
The source also said it that the idea of giving the commissioner slot to another person as being planned by Governor Samuel Iortyom is not in Akumes book at all.
Nigerian Concord gathered that Hon. Orker Jev who is a member representing Buruku federal constituency is also very interested in the case and has told Akume not to try anything funny.
Hon. Jev who is presently in a serious war with Akume over who becomes the next senator of zone B in 2019 had reportedly warned Akume that he would take the case to the National Assembly in case the former governor tied to do some cover up.
