Murder: Buruku Sole Administrator, Others Remanded in prison till January, 2017
A Makurdi Magistrate court today remanded the Sole Administrator of Buruku, Mr. David Yimam, Emmanuel Nyajo and Mr. Ankugwa who is the personal assistant to the run away Benue state commissioner for Arts and culture, Mr. Sekav Iortyom.
They were remanded in Makurdi prison and will have to remain there till January 23, 2017 when the murder case of late Tondo which they were charged for was adjourned to.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police Force has declared the Benue state commissioner for Arts and Culture, Hon. Sekav Iortyom, wanted.
Investigation revealed that Senator George Akume has been fingered in the successful escape of the suspect.
Sekav who had been previously detained for his involvement in the murder of Andooso Tondo, a former APC chairmanship aspirant for Buruku local government is presently on the run.
The commissioner who was recently arrested and granted bail is said to have absconded having heard that the state commissioner of police, Mr. Bashir Makama, was on Sunday instructed by the police authorities in Abuja to charge him (Sekav), the Sole Administrator of Buruku, Mr. David Yimam, Emmanuel Nyajo and Mr. Ankugwa who is the commissioner’s personal assistant to court in Makurdi.
Nigerian Concord gathered that while
David Yimam, Emmanuel Nyajo and Mr. Ankugwa surrendered themselves to the police for their arraignment, Hon. Sekav Iortyom decided to run away to avoid prosecution.
