Suswam, Ityavyar, Manger, Gbilekaa congratulate Ortom on Supreme Court victory

The senator representing the Benue North East Senatorial District and Senate Committee Chairman on power, Senator Gabriel Suswam, Benue state commissioner for Education, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, Special Adviser on Energy, Hon. Emmanuel Manger, and Benue State Urban Development Board General Manager, Hon. Abrahams Gbilekaa, have congratulated the Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, on his victory at the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court had on Tuesday this week upheld the election of Governor Samuel Ortom by dismissing an appeal filed by the APC governorship candidate, Mr. Emmanuel Jime.
Suswam who spoke through his media assistant, Mr. Bede Bartholomew, described the ruling as the final solution to the legal battle which arose after the last governorship election in Benue state.
His words: “Now that the highest court in the country has finally settled the controversies surrounding the Benue Governorship Election and affirmed Governor Ortom as the true winner of the election. I send hearty congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Samuel Ortom and a bigger congratulation to the people of Benue State, who are the real winners.
“I seek for more support for the Governor now that all the doubts over the outcome of the election and legal tussle has been cleared to enable the governor tackle the welfare of the people and address the security challenges in a measurable and more impactful manner to bring development and prosperity to Benue State. I urge the APC candidate Rt, Hon. Emmanuel Jime to accept the judgment in good faith and cooperate with the Governor in the task of making Benue State envy of all.”
On his own, the Benue State Commissioner of Education, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, described the verdict as a re-affirmation of the mandate massively given by the Benue people during the last governorship election in the State.
Prof. Ityavyar who spoke through his media aide, Mr. Alabar Tersoo, said the verdict did not come as a surprise given the massive support the Governor received across the twenty three (23) local government areas of the State during the governorship election.
The Commissioner of Education commended the role of the judiciary in deepening the country’s democracy through sound judgements.
He prayed God to sustain his grace, wisdom and strength on the Governor as he continues to serve the State with uncommon patriotism and the fear of God.
Speaking in his congratulatory message, Special Adviser on Energy, Hon. Emmanuel Manger, lauded the Apex court for standing by the rule of law during the hearing and judgment.
Manger said: “I write on behalf of my family to heartily congratulate Your Excellency, the Governor of our State Samuel Ortom on your unanimous victory at the Supreme Court which has affirmed your reelection. I equally want to wish you well in your determination to consolidate on the gains of your first tenure, while doing even more for our people.
“You fought a tough battle starting from the polls to the courts. However, your doggedness and unflinching faith in God gave you a resounding victory.
“Your Excellency, as you dedicate yourself to selfless service to your people over the next four years of your 2nd term, I pray God to bless you, your family and your administration, and to give you the wisdom to steer the affairs of the state in line with your sterling vision of developing Benue State”
Also, the General Manager/ Chief Executive Officer, Benue State Urban Development Board, Makurdi Apostle ( Dr) Saint – Gbilekaa Abrahams, hailed the Supreme Court for affirming the governorship election that produced His Excellency Samuel Ortom, as the Governor of Benue State.
In a statement, the Benue State Urban Development Boss congratulated Governor Ortom over his victory at the apex court.
Gbilekaa said the verdict of the Supreme Court was consistent with the principles of justice administration and also the electoral desires of the people of the state as expressed in the governorship election.
Gbilekaa described the apex court ruling as an affirmation of the people’s will as witnessed through their votes in the 2019 governorship election in the state.
He said the ruling of the Apex court has but to an end the unnecessary controversies surrounding the Benue State governorship election now that Governor Ortom has been affirmed as the true winner of the election.
The former Ushongo Local Government Council Chairman said with the verdict of the Supreme Court, the Governor will now settle down comfortably to face the business of governance, now that the distraction of litigations are over.
Gbilekaa similarly congratulated the good people of Benue state for the earnest prayers and sacrifices they have made during the Governor’s trying period, describing the victory as the miracle working hand of God.
He also appreciated the true commitment and hardwork of the Governor’s legal team lead by Sebastian Hon, SAN amongst other well tested legal luminaries for a job well done.
Gbilekaa further called on Governor Ortom to put behind him the pains that he has gone through and extend a hand of fellowship even to members of the opposition now that legal fireworks are over.
