Abounu, Manger, Ityavyar, Alli, Yagbaa hail Appeal Court verdict, rejoice with Ortom

As congratulatory messages continue to troop in, Benue state deputy governor, Engineer Benson Abounu, commissioner for Education, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, Special Adviser to Governor Ortom on Energy, Science and Technology, Hon. Emmanuel Manger, Chairman of Otukpo LG, Hon. George Alli, and the Member Representing Logo State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Honourable Prince Kuranen Yagba, have hailed the appeal court verdict, saying it was a well deserved victory to the governor.

In his statemeny, Abounu described the decision of the Court of Appeal dismissing the appeal filed by Barr. Emmanuel Jime, the defeated governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state as a vindication of the stand of the Benue people at the elections.

Engr Abounu called on the APC in the state to accept the verdict of the Benue people and join Governor Samuel Ortom in bringing dividends of democracy to the people. He said Governor Samuel Ortom’s government, will do all within its power to make life more meaningful for the Benue people.

He said: “Today’s judgment at the court of Appeal and especially the cost that was awarded against the APC candidate is an indication, a signal to the opposition APC to accept the verdict of the people at the polls and team up with us in order that we can deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Benue State”.

Also, Benue state commissioner of Education, Prof. Dennis Ityavyar, has congratulated Governor Samuel Ortom on his resounding victory at the Appeal Court today.

The Education commissioner stated that he has no doubt that the electoral victory given to his boss, Gov. Samuel Ortom by the good people of Benue State will remain unshakable.

He restated that his Excellency, is a leader who believes in equity, justice, fairness, reconciliation and fear of God, his victory sends a clear signal that his decades of meritorious service to the people is being recognized.

Prof. Ityavyar enjoined members of the opposition to join hands with the Governor to move state forward as only God makes leaders, and Gov. Ortom’s case is not different.

In his own words, Honourable Emmanuel Manger, Special Adviser on Energy, Science and Technology, described the appeal court verdict as the wish of all Benue sons and daughters of Benue state who voted for the governor during the poll.

Manger added that the verdict is a true position of Benue people who always stand for good governance and equity.

Congratulation Governor Ortom, he said that the government will not relent in its efforts to give the dividends of democracy to all.

Also speaking on the verdict, Chairman of Otukpo LG, Hon. George Alli, said that the pronouncement of the appeal court was not strange to him as a result of the winning margin between the governor and Emmanuel Jime.

Alli said that he had always believed that the governor would be declared winner by the court owing to the way voters trooped out to vote for him overwhelmingly.

Also the Member Representing Logo State Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Honourable Prince Kuranen Yagba has congratulated the Executive Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom on his victory at the Appeal court in Abuja.

Yagba said that the judgment did not come to him and the good people of Logo State Constituency as a surprise, adding that the appellate court only affirmed the decision of the people of Benue State who turned out en masse for the re-election of the Governor.

The Chairman House Committee on Rural Development and Cooperatives expressed confidence in the ability of Governor Samuel Ortom to provide purposeful leadership and service delivery in the form of dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies of Benue State.

He assured the people of the state that the Governor would reciprocate their gesture by consolidating on the achievements he has recorded in his first tenure and prays God to grant him more successes, wisdom and courage to serve the people of Benue State.
