Pita Agbese, Benue’s worst enemy, says Idoma professionals association in US

The Idoma Professionals Association (IPA-USA) in the USA has berated a Benue state indigene who is also a US-based Professor, Pita Agbese, over his roles in fueling crisis and hate speech against the state governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom.
The group also faulted Agbese’s media attacks which are being sponsored by some politicians in the state just to discredit Governor Ortom and make it look like his administration has failed in all ways.
The group expressed its displeasure in a press statement signed by its Chairman, Prof. Jude Agbo, and made available to journalists this morning.
According to IPA-USA which has Idoma sons and daughters who are professionals all over the US, Canada and Mexico as its members, those sponsoring Pita Agbese to condemn the recent open apology which the Miyetti Allah leaders tendered to Governor Samuel Ortom over Benue killings are the enemies of the state.
Saying that Agbese himself is Benue’s worst enemy, the group wondered why anyone “in his right sense” would rise against how the fulani killers had apologised to the governor when it is clear that the killings will stop as a result of the reconciliation.
The statement reads in parts: “Apologising to Governor Ortom alone means that our killers understand his (Ortom) roles by staking his own life to be sure Benue people are free from death. So anyone who joins hands with Pita Agbese or sponsors him to kick against this reconciliation is our enemy.
” Pita is a staunch member of this association, and we have written to him to explain why he has allowed himself to be used by politicians in Benue in order to score cheap political goals.
“We are still wondering what the sources of all the fake information he has been circulating about Ortom on the social media are.
” We understand that Pita is being frustrated by his American wife but that doesn’t mean that he should stoop low as to allowing selfish politicians to use him for their own political gains.
“How can anyone say that what the Miyetti Allah people did by apologising to Ortom and as well promise to join him in fighting Fulani killings and other social vices on Benue state is a bad move? How can we condemn Mr. Governor for this wonderful achievement which no governor has ever achieved in the history of Benue/Fulani crises? We think it is bad if Benue politicians think they can hire one of our members to attack Governor Ortom’s administration.
” We have appealed to Pita to forget about the politics back home and focus on his crumbling marriage and career because those that are hiring him to blackmail innocent people today will turn their backs at him tomorrow.
“Benue people can now identify their real enemy between Ortom who stood against their killers and those using Pita Agbese to condemn a peace pact which will naturally stop Fulani killings in the state”
Also, the Idoma Professionals Association said in the statement that allegations by Agbese that Governor Ortom had failed in the areas of salaries, pensions, health and road projects were fake.
According to the group, Pita hasn’t been home for quite sometime, and that has informed his lacks of knowledge about how the governor has been paying salaries and pensions promptly.
IPA-USA asked in the statement who constructed all the roads among other infrastructural projects across Benue state since 2016 if not the same Governor Ortom whom they are using Agbese to paint as a failed man.
However, the association has threatened to expel any of its members who allows him or herself to be used by politicians in Nigeria for political reasons.
