Suswam to empower 200 Kwande farmers, others
The Senator representing Benue Zone A at the National Assembly, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has approved an agricultural empowerment program for two hundred farmers from Kwande local government area.
This was disclosed recently by Honourable Tyoule Akende who informed Kwande people at a stakeholders meeting that Senator Suswam had demanded two hundred names of farmers from the local government to benefit from his agricultural empowerment program.
According to him, Senator Suswam had instructed those in charge of the scheme to draw the names of beneficiaries from APC, PDP, APGA, AA, and every political party that have membership existence in Kwande as a way to prove that he is not representing PDP zone A alone but the entire people of zone A.
Apart from Kwande farmers, other people that will also benefit from the empowerment which will soon take off are the disabled, traditional rulers and clergy men.
Responding, Hon. Adzua Ashongo, Hon. Terna Mpen (Abuja) amongst others noted that, Suswam’s demand is timely, recalling that few weeks ago, they were in Makurdi to witness disbursement of Sen. Suswam’s scholarship to law school students and discovered the highest percentage of beneficiaries were from Kwande local government.
In a separate remark, Kwande local government chairman, Hon. Engr. Tertsua Yarkwan, testified that, his own family member also benefited from the law students scholarship of Senator Suswam.
