Don’t take Ortom for granted, Mkor warns Akume
Nigerian Concord Newspaper
This headline may sound funny but it is a fact. It points to the fact that a critical background check must always be done before any political leader makes anyone his ally.
On July 11, 2018, Dr. Mkor Aondona PhD wrote an article with the above headline just to show his personal displeasure about how his current boss, Senator George Akume, was maltreating the governor of Benue state, Mr. Samuel Ortom, at that time. Mkor didn’t stop there; he ensured that he lavishly shared the said article on several Benue groups on Facebook.
In the article, the sacked BSU lecturer who has now been acting well as the media adviser to Akume, the Special Duties minister, said: “On The Major Reasons Why Senator George Akume Shouldn’t Have Or Should Not Take His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom For Granted As The Democratically Elected Governor Of Benue State With Versatile Political Experience!!!
Before you read the article which has been reproduced below this place verbatim, let us quickly ask Mkor Aondona what has now changed from that same Governor whom he had always described as the man who has a versatile political experience to unite Benue state. This is the same man he calling evil now.
Let us also ask him what has changed in that same Senator George Akume who he described in the said article as someone who has taken to the “unglorifying” venture of undermining, intimidating and sheer grant-taking of the personal integrity/dignity as well as the office and mandate of His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom, the Executive Governor of Benue State in the most demystifying manner.
Here is the article which Mkor wrote and lavishly shared on the social media on July 11, 2018 (Screen shots are available here too):
On The Major Reasons Why Senator George Akume Shouldn’t Have Or Should Not Take His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom For Granted As The Democratically Elected Governor Of Benue State With Versatile Political Experience!!!
By Mkor Aondona PhD
I hear in public places and read on the social media that Senator George Akume has in recent time taken to the unglorifying venture of undermining, intimidating and sheer grant-taking of the personal integrity/dignity as well as the office and mandate of His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom, the Executive Governor of Benue State in the most demystifying manner. This characteristic show of disrespect and utter derogation whether real or imaginary shouldn’t be contemplated or should not have been contemplated by Senator Akume for very obvious reasons which are as follows:
1) It must be noted by Senator Akume as every indigene or citizen of Benue State is also aware that Dr. Samuel Ortom is the number one citizen in the state and the Governor of all persons within the boundaries of Benue, including Senator Akume himself. To this extent, it is obligatory of Senator George Akume to honour and respect the mandate of the millions of people that has been reposed in Dr. Samuel Ortom as the Governor to keep and protect.
2) To every unbiased assessor, it is a common fact that that Dr. Samuel Ortom has never been a proponent of politics of bitterness as his models of political development have always harped on the thresholds of reconciliation, selflessness, forgiveness, fear of God and humility among others. To this extent, Benue indigenes including myself are living witnesses to the hitherto, existing respect and recognition given to Senator George Akume by Dr. Samuel Ortom, ever before he even became the Governor today. And as they say, respect is reciprocal. So Senator George Akume for whatever reason(s) shouldn’t have or should not abuse this expected mutual respect, which all Benue indigenes and citizens are watching his recent outings on the office and person of the Governor Samuel Ortom.
3) In every life experience, it is expected that people should NOT claim to make people and at the same time claim they will DESTROY them!! We are all under a Supreme Creator who determines our today and our tomorrow. To this extent, for a mere mortal to claim he made someone something and he can also destroy that person is like playing “god” on earth which we are all aware that our Supreme Creator has made it clear that He is a jealous God and any attempt to compare ourselves or anything on earth with Him in Heaven will attract the wages of death. So Senator George Akume should know that there is a Supreme Creator who is watching him!!!
4) Interestingly, in the game of politics,it must be noted that Dr. Samuel Ortom is an older breed to Senator George Akume in their varied ages and offices occupied in their intertwined experiences!!!
I am aware that when Dr. Samuel Ortom was an elected local government chairman in Guma in 1992 as his immediate political constituency where his people gave him their confidence to lead, he Senator George Akume was a civil servant who had no idea of grassroots politics.
To this extent, there is a saying that age and experience are priceless and those who acquire such should be respected and not be taken for granted.
Above all, I wish to call on well meaning indigenes and good people of Benue State to queue behind Dr. Samuel Ortom because what we are seeing here may be beyond just about politics but a calculated attempt by some persons who see Dr. Samuel Ortom as a potential threat to their agenda of implanting a Fulani herdsmen agenda and conquest of Benue State As they are obviously seeing that if Dr. Samuel Ortom is pushed out of the way, they can have access to our land and a Fulani herdsmen era in Benue State.
Stay United With Ortom As Benue Will Be Greater!!!
