In a bid to overturn the March 9 victory of Benue state governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom, by crooked means, the APC national headquarters working under the directive of Vice President Yemi Osibajo has invited four top INEC officials to a meeting which was presided over by Adams Oshiomole and General Dambazzau Rtd on a way to replace election materials used during the governorship poll in Benue with the fake ones they already possessed.
At the meeting, the INEC officials were promised a bribe of N1B if they could help Emmanuel Jime in tampering with the election materials that were used during the March 9 and 23 governorship election in Benue state.
However, Sources said that the INEC officials rejected the bribe, saying that they could only cooperate if and only if Vice President Osinbajo agrees to bring himself into the picture. It was gathered that the Vice president had said that he will never bring himself into the picture for fears of being implicated by the INEC officials if things turn out to be negative.
Right now, plans are ongoing to bring in some other INEC officials for the same negotiation.
