Having failed to persuade the Benue INEC REC to release the uncollected PVCs for the areas where rerun will be held next Saturday to him, Barrister Emmanuel Jime, candidate of the APC, led Eugene Aliegba, Jack Gyado and Akange Audu to meeting with Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, who facilitated a secret meeting with the INEC national commissioner from Kogi state, Mrs Antonia Taiye Okoosi, who arranged another meeting with two other INEC national commissioners namely: Amina Bala Zakari and Baba Shettima Arfo from Borno state on how they can persuade the INEC chairman, Yakubu Mahmood, to release the uncollected PVCs in the custody of the CBN so they can be used to manipulate the March 23 rerun.

The said meeting between Emmanuel Jime, candidate of the APC, Eugene Aliegba, Jack Gyado, Akange Audu, Governor Yahaya Bello and the three INEC national commissioners, Mrs Antonia Taiye Okoosi, Amina Bala Zakari and Baba Shettima Arfo was held at the Kogi state Governor’s Lodge in Abuja at 1am today.

At the said meeting, Yahaya Bello made it known that the national leadership of APC is willing to release N300 million to the INEC if the uncollected PVCs could be released to the Benue APC so that there could be a reasonable figure which would rise above the expected 61,000 votes during the rerun.

Governor Bello said that there is no way the APC candidate can win the rerun since Governor Samuel Ortom is already having a total vote of 81,000. He said the total numbers of the PVCs collected in the affected areas are just 61,000 which cannot overturn the existing 81,000 votes which the governor has already.

According to Jime who spoke after Yahaya Bello, there is a serious need for INEC to release the uncollected 61,356 PVCs to the APC to enable a perfect rigging

Jime said it will mean that he too also has 61, 356 votes if the PVCs are released to him for onward thumb printing before the rerun.

He also added that it will be easy for soldiers both fake and real and other security agents to assist him in getting more than 50,000 votes through manipations and ballot boxes snatching from the real 61,000 voters who actually collected their PVCs earlier.

Jime pressed further that he already has the backing of the Army, the Police and Civil Defence Corps to use their operatives for ballot boxes snatching and other manipulations which will help in emerge winner during the rerun.

A top security aide to Yahaya Bello who ushered all the attendees into the meeting at the instance of his boss explained to us that the meeting couldn’t be concluded as Zakari who spoke for the other INEC national commissioners told Jime and other APC chieftains at the meeting that they would still need to get some close associates of the INEC chairman, Prof. Yakubu Mahmood, to prevail over him for him to approve the release of the uncollected PVCs.

However, the three INEC national commissioners were given N15 million each as the cost of the transport.
