Akume wants to kill me, Benue commissioner cries out

Benue state commissioner for Works, Mr. Emmanuel Manger, has raised alarms that the senator representing Zone B, Senator George Akume, has perfected plans to kill him because of his loyalty to Governor Samuel Ortom.
Recall that operatives of the Nigerian Police had yesterday afternoon arrested three suspected assassins who apparently came to murder Manger at his Polling Unit in Tarka while the governorship election was going on.
Although six members of the killer squad escaped, the police officers who were attached to Mbanyagber Ward Manger II Polling Unit where the incident happened were able to apprehend the remaining three suspects and handed them over to the DPO of Tarka local government.
They were caught with some motorcycles and five Pistols with several bullets.
The suspects who are already cooperating with the police had been taken to the State Police Headquarters in Makurdi.
But in a short media note, Manger said that the attack on his life was planned by his erstwhile political godfather, Senator Akume.
He said he believed that the foiled attack was a result of his refusal to stay with the senator when Governor Ortom was decamping back yo the PDP.
The commissioner however called on members of the Nigerian security agencies to come to his help and as well hold Senator Akume liable for any further attacks on his life.
