Ortom, Suswam secure bloc votes in Logo

As the governor of Benue state, Mr. Samuel Ortom, began his local government campaigns today, the entire people of Logo local government have promised him and his successor, Dr. Gabriel Suswam who is the PDP senatorial candidate for Zone A, their bloc votes.
Various speakers who spoke at the campaign which was held at LGEA primary School in Ugba, Logo local government said that they will deliver the entire local government to Governor Samuel Ortom so he can continue to protect them.
Speakers at the event also pledged their unalloyed support to Dr. Gabriel Suswam, saying that they need him to give the zone a good and credible representation at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly.
In their separate speeches, Dr. Terkura Suswam, Terka Thomas Maawo and Terngu Shawon said that there is need for Benue state to support Governor Samuel Ortom so that there will be continuity in his good projects in the state.
They expressed appreciation to the governor for making the entire Logo to feel the presence of his administration since inception.
According to Terkura Suswam, APC is a Fulani party which will always work for the interest of the Miyetti Allah people.
He then urged the people of Logo and Benue to embrace Governor Ortom and shun any campaigns from the APC and its people so that the peace and security which the state currently enjoys can be sustained.
Also in their separate remarks, Chairman of Logo local government, Youth and Women Leaders of Logo PDP promised that the votes of the entire place are for Governor Samuel Ortom, Dr. Gabriel Suswam and Richard Gbande so that Benue state won’t be taken back to Egypt by the APC.
They pressed further that the people of the area are aware of the risk which the governor took to ensure that Fulani herders didn’t take over all their lands.
Also speaking, the representative of the National Union of Teachers in Benue State said that the entire teachers in the state are going to support Samuel Ortom as a result of their welfare which he takes as his priority.
He said that there is no teacher in the entire Benue state who hasn’t felt Governor Ortom’s positive impacts since he became governor in 2015.
The NUT representative pressed further that students in the state have been doing well academically as a result of the governor’s attention towards education.
He added that teachers in Benue state too are comfortable with Governor Ortom’s administration, noting that they had sent him to inform the governor that their entire votes are for him in 2019 so he can continue with his projects on education
Also addressing the mammoth crowd, state chairman of PDP in Benue state, Sir John Ngbede, said that the people of the area must vote for Ortom so that he can sustain the peace they are presently enjoying.
Ngbede also urge them to bote massively for Dr. Gabriel Suswam so that he can give them credible representation in Abuja as their senator.
He promised that Gabriel Suswam will not become a sleeping senator like Senator Barnabas Gemade at the Senate.
His words: “Suswam has represented you well at the National Assembly before and he did very well so you must vote for him so he can represent you better than the incumbent senator who does nothing than sleeping on the floor of the Senate”
On the presidential election, the PDP state chairman urged the people to vote for Alhaji Abubakar Atiku so he can bring unity back to the country.
He added that the Tiv nation will be secured with Atiku being a highest title holder in the state.
Speaking also, PDP candidate for Zone A, Dr. Gabriel Suswam, said that it is only Governor Ortom that can ensure that Benue lands are not grabbed by the herders who have been killing innocent people and farmers in the heir hundreds.
According to him, Benue needs a governor like Ortom who can carry out the full responsibilities of a state governor.
He urged the people to shun the campaigns of calumny of the people who are trying to change the real narratives of Benue state, adding that the governor’s stand to stand by his people in the face of Fulani killings should be taken into consideration.
He also begged them not to vote for people that are bent on taking the state backward. He said the electorate should compare the governor’s performances when he was in APC to when he is now in PDP.
On his senatorial bid, Suswam said he had represented them in the National Assembly before, stressing that he will still do more to make live bearable for them if elected.
He however promised to attract federal presence to Logo and the entire Zone A just as he said he will give them a credible representation as a senator.
Addressing the rally, Governor Ortom promised to ensure that democracy is brought to everyone in Benue if he is reelected as governor.
The governor said it is the peace and security of his people that maters to him now, saying that the people should not allow those that want to cede their lands to the fulanis succeed in their plan.
Ortom promised that he will improve his efforts in the areas of payment of salaries, workers welfare and massive infrastructure if reelected.
He urged the people not to allow themselves to be brainwashed by the enemies of the state who are making attempts to rewrite the narratives.
On the peace pact, the governor said his party will be committed to a peaceful election in the state, adding that the party will not be intimidated by anyone.
On agriculture,Ortom said that his government had done well, promising to improve on it better of reelected.
