As Benue state prepares for the 2019 elections, the Zone A people in the state have thrown their weight behind Governor Samuel Ortom and his reelection bid.

They made this promise at Akume Atongo Stadium in Katsina Ala yesterday at the flag off of the Zone A PDP women by the governor’s wife Dr. Eunice Ortom.

In her welcome speech, the Executive Chairman of Katsina-Ala Local Government, Hon. Mrs. Virginia Kpindi, warned Zone A women that any woman that is caught supporting any Miyetti Allah agent will be banished from the land.

Kpindi added that supporting any candidate who has already identified with the Miyetti Allah is like asking the herders to come and kill our people again.

She advised them to support and reelect Gov. Samuel Ortom, even if it would be for his wife’s sake alone. She also assured Her Excellency and the entire Benue people of peace in the area during and after the elections.

Hon. Mrs. Hembadoon Amena, Mrs. Nancy Ityavyar and Mrs. Doo Dzoho who spoke on behalf of Katsina-Ala, Jerchira and Kwande women respectively all eulogized the first lady for her courage.

Mrs. Nancy Ityavyar while speaking for Jerchira women insisted that the women of the area must appreciate Gov. Samuel Ortom for the love he has shown Jerchira. She maintained that apartt from having the speaker of Benue State House of Assembly, Jerchira has the highest number of appointees in Ortom’s government.

Mrs. Doo Dzoho said Kwande people are comfortable with Gov. Samuel Ortom’s administration. She pleaded with Dr. Eunice Ortom to go and tell her husband that Kwande women are working, and they will continue to work for his victory at the polls.

The PDP Chairman of Zone A Hon. Adzua Ashongo, said Zone A people have good intentions and are willing to work together for the reelection of the governor.

According to him, Zone A people cannot vote another person who will come and thwart the already established sharing formula. He emphasised that President Buhari promised to do just 4 years but is still contesting so Nigerians have lost confidence in the party.

He added that Benue people should not reject Gov.Samuel Ortom at the polls because of the issue of salaries. The party chairman made reference to the pathetic situation of Kogi State workers whose salaries are being owed by an APC governor.

In a similar vein, the PDP woman leader of Zone A Mrs. Margerate Num assured that the Zone A PDP women are set to face the evil people (Buhari and Miyetti Allah agents) with their votes.

Meanwhile, The PDP’s candidate for Sankera Federal Constituency, Comrade Richard Gbande cautioned that a slave does not have a place and a say so Benue people must resist the slave masters parading as saints to convince voters.

Dr. Mrs. Eunice Ortom who went and sealed bloc votes for her husband in her speech promised that the governor will not stop until the Fulani crises and killings are defeated if he is reelected.

She added that the governor should be appreciated for taking a huge risk to stand for his people who are being killed in their hundreds by the Fulani killers who are bent on taking over their lands forcefully.

According to Eunice Ortom, the governor means well for the people of Benue and that can be felt from the way he has taken the prompt payments of workers and pensioners, massive road construction and peoples welfare as his major priorities since he broke away from those that caged and prevented him from performing.
