Replacement of gubernatorial candidate may occur in one of the major political parties in Benue state as the state prepares for its 2019 governorship election, Nigerian Concord learnt.

This replacement, according to information available to this newspaper, may occur as a result of the general rejection of Governor Samuel Ortom, Barrister Emmanuel Jime and Mr. Hingah Biem who are all governorship candidates of PDP, APC and SDP respectively.

According to feelers, the possible replacement may favour one of the former governorship aspirants of the PDP who is believed to be parading a manifesto which has human faces.

It was gathered that the aspirant (name withheld) is also from the same area with the incumbent governor of the state.

Recall that the people of Benue state have since the primary elections raised their voices against the imposition of both Ortom and Jime on delegates by the national bodies of their respective political parties.

While Governor Samuel Ortom was imposed on the PDP by the national chairman of the Party, Chief Uche Secondus, and other party leaders, Barrister Jime was believed to have been imposed on the APC by the Presidency.

However, majority of Benue people who are of the opinion that Jime will be working for the interest of President Muhammadu Buhari as regards the Anti Grazing Bill also opine that Governor Samuel Ortom doesn’t have anything positive to offer the state, having failed in his first tenure in office.

According to sources within the PDP, APC and SDP, leaders of the parties are seriously meditating on possible replacement before the November deadline of the INEC for substitution.

Nigerian Concord gathered that the former PDP aspirant is being favoured by all the calculations which can lead any of the major political parties to victory in 2019.
