The 2016 governorship candidate of the PDP in Ondo state, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede, this evening said that he would not decamp to Labour Party, LP, with the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Segun Mimiko.

Jegede said this during a brief telephone chat with Nigerian Concord Newspaper.

It was reported this morning that the former governor, Mimiko, had concluded plans to quit the PDP with his supporters and political allies before the end of the week.

The report also said that the former governor had arranged with leadership of the Labour Party where an elaborate welcome back rally will be held in his honour.

Speaking with this newspaper, Jegede said that there was nothing that would make him leave the PDP as it stands now.

Asked if he may bow to pressures from Mimiko and follow him to Labour Party, the former governorship candidate simply said: “I am PDP and so shall I remain”
