Aluko, Ekiti former deputy gov, declares ambition tomorrow
Nigerian Concord Newspaper
Former deputy governor of Ekiti state, Surveyor Abiodun Aluko, will tomorrow declare his intentions to contest for this year governorship election in the state.
Aluko who hails from Ikere Ekiti is a leading governorship aspirant under the platform of the Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN).
It would be recalled that the people of the state are clamouring for a governor from the Southern part of the state where Surveyor Aluko hails from.
Since the creation of Ekiti state, no one from the Southern zone has been made governor.
However, Aluko and the present deputy governor of the state, Professor Eleka whom Governor Ayodele Fayose has imposed on the ruling PDP, are from Ikere Ekiti, a major part of the Ekiti Southern Zone.
Aluko had wanted to contest under the PDP being a major stakeholder in the party but he decided to join the newly formed Mega Party of Nigeria when it became obvious that Governor Ayodele Fayose wouldn’t allow him and his Co aspirants to run under the party.
Speaking briefly on the declaration which takes place at the Mega Party secretariat in Ado Ekiti tomorrow, Aluko told Nigerian Concord that he is in the race to ensure that the people of the state experience good governance which he said they have been lacking.
Details about Abiodun Aluko’s blueprint for Ekiti state will be fully published inside Nigerian Concord Newspaper next week.
